This site is dedicated
to preserving the memory of the proud brewing tradition
of Macardle Moore and Co. From humble beginnings by
Edward H. Macardle in 1863 to its final closure by Diageo
in 2001 this site provides an insight into almost 300
hundred years of brewing at Cambricville. This site
intends to give a unique insight into the private and
public life of a Brewery through the experience of those
who spent their working lives there. Through archived
documents and pictures from the beginning in 1863 to
media reports in the new Millennium, this site will
give you a comprehensive guide to the "The Brewery".
A place that many called work, some called community
